Timothy Brace, M.C.
Headmaster
During his distinguished career over the past 25 years, Mr. Brace has served as Headmaster or Executive Director at several secondary boarding schools throughout the United States, inspiring a generation of students through his vision, innovation and educational leadership. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with young people and their families that is virtually unmatched, Mr. Brace holds a Bachelor of Arts from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Counseling from Arizona State University.
John C. Henson, CPA
Dean of Administration
Mr. Henson began his career at Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc., where he was promoted to Associate Vice-President of the investment banking firm. After passing the CPA exam, Mr. Henson was hired as Treasurer, and later served as Controller of an Atlanta-based manufacturing company, where he was responsible for the firm's accounting and audit review procedures, financial analysis and reporting, inventory management, and network administration. Mr. Henson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and attended Georgia State University’s Executive Master of Business Administration program.
Gail W. Fultz
Assistant Dean of Administration
With a career in education that has spanned over 30 years, Ms. Fultz brings extensive experience in educational instruction and administration to Carlbrook School. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Longwood College, Ms. Fultz worked for many years as a teacher in Georgia, Virginia, and Ohio. For the last 16 years, Ms. Fultz has served as the Director of Educational Programs at the National Science Center Foundation, where she worked with the former President of the University of Georgia developing and implementing educational software programs for high school and college students.
Amanda Jones, R.N.
Registered Nurse
Mrs. Jones received her diploma in registered nursing from Danville Regional Medical Center and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Since 2004, she was employed as a registered nurse at Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, VA where she was assigned to the maternity ward.
Anna Gerard, M.S.W., L.C.S.W., D.S.W. (candidate)
Director of Communications
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Ms. Gerard holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She has experience working with a variety of client populations, most recently with adolescents and families specializing in crisis intervention. Ms. Gerard, a former member of the Executive Team at Carlbrook School, was a primary therapist for three years before going on to develop the Department of Alumni and Transition Services, a comprehensive aftercare curriculum for families graduating from the school. Currently Ms. Gerard resides in Philadelphia where she provides outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families in a private practice setting. She continues to provide clinical consultation regarding the mental health programming of Carlbrook and as Director of Communications is responsible for the development and dissemination of all written publications for the school. Ms. Gerard is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania. Areas of particular interest include adolescent development, Borderline Personality Disorder, Eating Disorders, social norms theory and the effects of sexual content in the media on perceptions of risky sexual behavior among early adolescents.
ADMISSIONS
Kelly Dunbar, M.A.
Dean of Admissions
With almost 20 years of experience working with adolescents, families, and educational consultants, Ms. Dunbar brings a wide range of knowledge and expertise to the Carlbrook admissions faculty. Over the course of her career, Ms. Dunbar has worked for nine years in counseling, seven years in secondary school admissions, and three years in counseling supervision. Ms. Dunbar holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Simpson College and a Master of Arts in Human Behavior from National University.
Terrie Lantor, B.S.
Admissions Counselor
Mrs. Lantor holds a B.S. in Commercial Recreation with a minor in Marketing from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. A native of South Boston, Mrs. Lantor was recently employed as a group sales manager at VIR Resort at Virginia International Raceway. Previously, she held a position as conference sales manager at Colonial Williamsburg Resort Collection.
