The founders of Carlbrook School hold firm the conviction that no school can adequately prepare its students for college without a commitment to technology. However, there are risks inherent to permitting students to have unrestricted access to computers, particularly in regards to the internet and external email. While it is important to consider these risks, it is equally important to equip students with the skills necessary to employ technology as a means of improving personal efficiency and effectiveness. The Board believes it understands the risks involved and has adequately planned to manage them.

All students will have the use of laptop computers and will receive continued instruction on the use of databases, word processing, spreadsheets, time management software, and keyboarding. Our goal is to increase student computer proficiency in areas typically lacking and particularly those areas that could prove advantageous after graduation.
