Alumni & Transition Services

alumnipic.jpgIn accordance with the mission of Carlbrook School, the Board of Regents decided in October of 2004 to support the development of a new school initiative – one that would be charged with identifying and providing services designed to better assist parents and students in acclimating to post-Carlbrook life and sustaining the gains achieved during their tenure here. The first step in this process was the creation of the school’s Department of Alumni and Transition Services, which has since proven highly successful in the development and maintenance of a robust alumni network among the school’s 400+ graduates. This has served to both increase the level of support for our rapidly growing alumni base and provide critical feedback as to the unique challenges and needs of our graduates and their families. Incorporating the information obtained through such outcome study, the school then committed itself to designing a transition program that would address these various student and parental concerns. As a result of this commitment, Carlbrook School began providing comprehensive transition services to all graduating families beginning with the December 2006 class.

The transition program has four primary functions – preparation, education, support and intervention – and has become the primary focus of the school’s Department of Alumni & Transition Services. Transition work with students and parents begins several months prior to graduation and will continue for a period of 12 months following commencement.
